The Week of Welcome (WOW) is SFU’s welcoming party for new and returning students and community members during the first week of classes in the fall term.

Fun events and activities designed to engage and entertain will be held each day at the Burnaby, Surrey and Vancouver campuses. Find out how your club or association can get involved.

Come to enjoy good food, listen to music, watch performances, get free stuff and have an awesome first week of school with Week of Welcome!

Tuesday September 6 – Friday September 9
10am – 3pm each day

WOW is held in Convocation Mall at Burnaby campus and in the Mezzanine at Surrey campus.

Burnaby Campus

Tuesday:
It’s the first day of school, which means free food, music, contests, exciting games and all the cotton candy you can eat.

Wednesday:
It’s BBQ day at WOW. Club for the Cure is hosting a delicious BBQ (sponsored by Nesters Market) — come by for lunch while supporting a good cause. And for the first time at WOW, take pictures with your friends at CAC’s photobooth and get an instant print to take home!

Thursday:
It’s fun dancing Thursday! Have a song request you like to dance to? DJ C-Styles will be at Convocation Mall all day. Come by for student deals, free stuff, contests, and more.

Friday:
It’s Friday, Friday – the Unbirthday Party Day. We are ending off the week by celebrating SFU’s 44th birthday with free cake sponsored by Renaissance Coffee. New to WOW this year is a giant game of Snakes and Ladders, plus other awesome boardgames for you to enjoy. Have some down time and want a challenge? Drop by!

Enter prize draws, tour the campus, and get free stuff! Let WOW Vancouver start your term off right with Comedian Graham Clark for an evening of comedy on September 7 from 7-9 pm in the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts. Graham is the co-host of the popular Stop Podcasting Yourself, has appeared on CTV's Comedy Now and at the Just For Laughs Festival. Visit the info kiosk for more information.
