What if I lose or damage my U-Pass BC?
There are NO REPLACEMENTS for lost or damaged U-Pass BC cards.
What if my U-Pass BC is stolen?
SFU Student Services will be able to issue another U-Pass BC to a student for a $35 replacement fee when a student files a police report and provides Student Services confirmation documentation of this report [i.e. copy of police report or document showing the case file number, detachment name, attending officer and stolen item(s)].
What if I am taking a course located outside Metro Vancouver and am still being charged for the U-Pass BC?
If your mailing address including postal code are within Metro Vancouver (see list of communities below), and meet all other eligibility requirements, you are eligible for the U-Pass BC program and the term charges. If your mailing address including postal code and course(s) are both located outside Metro Vancouver, you will not be eligible for the U-Pass BC program for the term and not charged.

How can I pay for my U-Pass BC?
U-Pass BC fees must be paid in the same manner as payment for all SFU fees. See how to pay your fees.
What if I have not paid for my U-Pass BC yet?
The U-Pass BC term fee must be paid by the Tuition Deadline and Fees Deadline for subsequent months' U-Pass BC cards to be issued. To confirm, check your Account Inquiry at http://sis.sfu.ca.
How long after I enroll can I pick up my U-Pass BC?
It will take 24 hours after you enroll for eligible students to pick up a U-Pass BC in person at a U-Pass BC kiosk. See "Obtaining Your U-Pass BC" page for details.
Can I claim my U-Pass BC cost in my income tax return?
Check Revenue Canada's website for the current regulation on claiming Transit Tax Credits. If you need proof that you were charged and paid the U-Pass BC fee, you can print your Account Summary from your SFU Financial Information on your Student Information System (SIS).
Can someone else use my U-Pass BC?
Your U-Pass BC is non-transferable and must be used only by you. If you are caught using another student's U-Pass BC or using a U-Pass BC forgery your U-Pass will be seized and you may be fined $173 or charged with fraud and arrested. Under the U-Pass BC Agreement; TransLink, SFU, the Simon Fraser Student Society and the Graduate Student Society each have the ability to restrict students from receiving U-Passes BC for any period of time as a result of fraudulent or inappropriate use of a U-Pass BC.
How long is the U-Pass BC card valid?
The U-Pass BC is valid for one month and will have the month of validity printed on the pass. You cannot use the U-Pass BC prior to the start date of the valid month.
Is my U-Pass BC a valid fare on its own?
The U-Pass BC is valid only when presented with your valid SFU student ID card.
What happens if I forgot my U-Pass BC and/or student card and have to pay the transit fare? Can I get a refund?
In accordance with the Tariff and the U-Pass BC Agreement, no refunds will be considered.
What happens if I am caught without a valid fare?
If you are caught without a valid fare (U-Pass BC plus matching SFU student ID card), your U-Pass BC may be confiscated and you may be fined $173 by TransLink.
What happens if I change my address during the term?
If you change your mailing address, your eligibility may change. Students who are enrolled in off campus courses and reside outside of Metro Vancouver for the term should not adjust their mailing address until after the end of the term.
