from the Vancouver International Airport (www.yvr.ca)

by car:

  1. Take the main road out of the airport following signs to Vancouver/New Westminster and proceed over the Arthur Laing Bridge. Follow the signs to Marine Drive (East).

  2. Continue on Marine Drive Way until you reach Boundary Road.

  3. Turn left and head North on Boundary Road

  4. Turn right onto Hastings St.

  5. Follow Hastings St. East watching for signs directing traffic to SFU.

  6. Stay in the right lane as Hastings St. forks. Hastings St. becomes Burnaby Mountain Parkway as it heads up Burnaby Mountain to the University.

  7. Turn left where Burnaby Mountain Parkway meets Gaglardi Way. This is the entrance to the University.

  8. The first building you will see is the 24 hour Information and Security Office. You can park temporarily in front and ask for directions to Visitor’s Parking

by public transit

  1. Bus stops for BC transit buses are located outside ground level (level 1) of the Domestic Terminal

  2. Take Bus #424 Airport Station (be sure to obtain a transfer).

  3. Get off at Airport Station Bay 5. Transfer to #98 Burrard Station in Bay 01

  4. Arrive downtown Vancouver and disembark at W. Cordova St. & Seymour St

  5. Walk 1 block south to Hastings St. and west towards Granville St.

  6. On the south side of Hastings St. near Granville take bus #135 SFU

  7. The #135 bus will take you directly to SFU and let you off near the 24 hour Information and Security Office. Go in and ask for directions to the Maggie Benston Student Services Centre.

from the Tsawassen Ferry Terminal (www.bcferries.bc.ca)

by car:

  1. Ferry Unloads onto Hwy 17

  2. Follow Hwy 17 to the exit for Hwy 99. Take Hwy 99 south/eastbound to Surrey & Seattle.

  3. Follow Hwy 99 East until it intercepts Hwy 91.

  4. Exit onto Hwy 91 northbound to New Westminster.

  5. Follow Hwy 91 north over the Alex Fraser Bridge.

  6. Once over the bridge follow Hwy 91A to New Westminster.

  7. Keep in the right lane of Hwy 91A as it continues over the Queensborough Bridge.

  8. Stay in the right lane and exit onto Stewardson Way.

  9. Follow Stewardson Way through New Westminster switching to the left lane to continue as it becomes Columbia St..

  10. Columbia St. becomes North Rd as you enter Burnaby.

  11. Follow E. Columbia St./North Rd. to Lougheed Highway.

  12. Turn left onto Lougheed Highway

  13. Turn right onto Gaglardi Way. Signs will indicate you are on the correct route for Simon Fraser University

  14. Follow Gaglardi Way all the way up Burnaby Mountain to SFU.

  15. The first building you will come to is the Information and Security Office. You can park temporarily in front and ask for directions to Visitor’s Parking

by public transit
(www.translink.bc.ca):
  1. BC Transit buses stop outside the foot passenger arrivals terminal.

  2. Take Bus #640 to Scott Road Station (be sure to ask for a transfer slip).

  3. From Scott Road Station take the SkyTrain to Columbia Station

  4. At Columbia Station transfer to the Millennium line Skytrain (eastbound to Commercial via Columbia)

  5. Disembark the skytrain at Production Way-University Station

  6. Transfer to bus#145 SFU

  7. Once you reach SFU the bus will let you off near the 24 hour Information and Security Office. Go in and ask for directions to the Maggie Benston Student Services Centre

from the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal (www.bcferries.bc.ca)

by car:

  1. Ferries unload onto Highway #1 East. Keep on going, over the Second Narrows Bridge and through the tunnel.

  2. Continue on #1 East until you reach the Cariboo Road Exit. Take the Cariboo Road exit and go north on Cariboo Road.

  3. Cariboo Road becomes Gaglardi Way.

  4. Go straight up Gaglardi Way to the University. The first building you will come to is the Information and Security Office. You can park temporarily in front and ask for directions to Visitor’s Parking

by public transit

(www.translink.bc.ca) :

  1. BC Transit buses stop outside the foot passenger arrivals terminal.

  2. Take bus #250 or #257 to the intersection of Georgia and Denman in downtown Vancouver.

  3. From Georgia and Denman, take bus #135 SFU to the University.

  4. Once you reach SFU the bus will let you off near the 24 hour Information and Security Office. Go in and ask for directions to the Maggie Benston Student Services Centre

from the Canada / US Border (by car)

from Douglas or Peace Arch Crossing:

  1. Take Highway 99 North

  2. From Highway 99, take the Exit to Highway 91 North (towards New Westminster)

  3. Take Highway 91 North, which leads to the Alex Fraser Bridge.

  4. Continue on Highway 91 over the Queensborough Bridge (towards New Westminster).

  5. Stay in the right lane to take the Stewardson Way Exit.

  6. Stewardson Way becomes Columbia Street. Stay in the left lane to continue following Columbia St.

  7. Columbia Street becomes North Road.

  8. From North Road, turn left onto Lougheed Highway.

  9. From Lougheed Hwy, turn right onto Gaglardi Way.

  10. Follow Gaglardi Way all the way up Burnaby Mountain to SFU.

  11. The first building you will come to is the Information and Security Office. You can park temporarily in front and ask for directions to Visitor’s Parking.

from Aldergrove Crossing:

  1. From I-5 take exit 256 N in Bellingham (Guide Meridian), follow Meridian north all the way to the Canadian border (about 20 min)

  2. Follow 264th Street to Highway #1 West

  3. From Highway #1, take the Cariboo Road Exit in Burnaby. Follow Cariboo Road north. (signs indicate route to SFU)

  4. Cariboo Road becomes Gaglardi Way.

  5. Follow Gaglardi Way all the way up to SFU.

  6. The first building you will come to is the Information and Security Office. You can park temporarily in front and ask for directions to Visitor’s Parking
