Step 1: Study Abroad 101

Attendance at a Study Abroad 101 session or watching the Study Abroad 101 Video Series is mandatory prior to receiving advising (both in-person advising and email advising).Times and locations are listed below.

Option 1: Study Abroad 101 Video Series

Watch this 3-part video series for an overview of studying abroad, the Formal Exchange Program and Field Schools run through SFU.

Option 2: Study Abroad 101 Information Sessions

Attend an in-depth information session to discover all of your study abroad options and discover which may be the best fit for you. This session will also focus on the details of planning and applying for exchange.

How to Apply for Exchange

Attend this detailed session to review the online exchange application, and learn from common errors to successfully submit a "correct" application. Open only to students who have attended/viewed "Study Abroad 101".

Step 3: Advising

If, during your research, you have any questions about programs run by International Services for Students (Exchanges or Field Schools), we offer both in-person and email advising.
(NOTE: You must attend a "Study Abroad 101" session - see Step 1 - prior to coming in for drop-in advising).

International Services for Students (ISS) Office Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (except holidays). The office is closed for lunch daily 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM. SFU offices will be closed from December 26th - January 2nd inclusive.

**Can't make drop-in advising? Appointments can be arranged upon request at the Burnaby Campus and Surrey Campus (Mondays). Please send your preferred times to studyabroad@sfu.ca by 4:00 PM Thursday for the following week.
