About Us
Student & Community Life
Student Development is part of Student and Community Life – a division of Student Services. Other units in Student & Community Life include Residence and Housing, Health and Counselling, Recreation, the Interfaith Centre and the First Nations Student Centre.
Our Mission...
We engage students in transformational experiences that foster personal success and active citizenship. These experiences encourage students to create meaningful connections with the SFU community and the world.
Student Development’s team of professionals is dedicated to ensuring students make the most out of their SFU experience. Yet it is our amazing teams of student volunteers who make our programs possible. Each year, over 500 student leaders serve their peers and the community in roles such as Orientation Leaders, Peer Educators, LEAD participants, Food Bank volunteers, and Surrey Campus Ambassadors.
Students build the SFU community. If you would like to get more involved in campus life and leadership, please browse the many opportunities in our programs.
