Our Story

Student Central was established in August 2008 and opened its doors to the public in the beginning of Fall 2008.  The original concept was to create a "welcome space" for SFU and to assist in student recruitment, student engagement and student retention.  Work spaces for Student Services staff, such as such as academic advisors, helped determine the layout. 

In 2009, the Admission office moved from the Registrar’s counter and into Student Central, along with the Campus Tour office.  Student Central then took on the operations and coordination of the Campus Tour program.  Flexibility and adaptability have been key concepts for Student Central’s operations and space layout; hence, even the floor plan includes spaces and services to fulfill needs for both students (lounge and laptop bar) and staff (cubicles, presentation area, boardroom, and offices).

Student Central is located at Maggie Benston Centre (MBC) 3000.

To find us: We are located right next to Convocation Mall on the main floor of Maggie Benston Centre, directly across from the library.

Monday - Friday (Feb 13 - 17)
9am - 5pm
