| Program | Cell and Molecular Biology students look at how biological organisms like plants and animals function at the cell and molecular level. In this program, you will have the opportunity to look at molecular systems like DNA and RNA and how they shape cellular systems and build the structure of organisms. You will also learn skills like gene cloning, genetic analysis and other research tools. Degree offered: BSc |

| Career opportunities | As a Cell and Molecular Biology graduate, you can enter many fields including the growing biotechnology industry, pharmaceutical research, or health-related study. Many students choose to go on to careers in medicine or take their analytical skills and apply them to business, education or government. Biological Sciences students at SFU report a much higher participation in graduate programs than graduates of other BC universities and report gaining employment relevant to their degree at a much higher rate than graduates of other BC universities (Source: The BC University President’s Council 2007 survey of 2002 BC university graduates). |
