Modern biology extends from the study of the molecules and chemical processes that make up cells (Cell and Molecular Biology), through the organization of these cells into complex organs or organ systems with their vital processes (Integrative Biology/Physiology), to the study of the interaction of organisms with one another and the environment in which they live (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology).
