| Program | The Humanities covers a broad range of ideas and subjects drawn from philosophy, art, literature, history, religion, science, and social and political thought. Through this interdisciplinary approach, the study of the humanities raises critical questions about the human condition. Is Humanities for you?Humanities is for students who are curious about many diverse areas such as history, literature, art, archaeology and more. Humanities will appeal to students who want an interdisciplinary approach, and want to study primary texts and examine cross-cultural issues in order to have a firm basis for understanding the human condition. It will be of particular interest to students who want to become productive, tolerant and engaged citizens. Areas of studyHumanities offers courses in a wide range of areas, including poetry, theatre, ancient and contemporary theory and philosophy, literature and cultural analysis. It includes the study of different periods of humanity’s development, from ancient Asian wisdom to mediaeval chicanery, to postmodern explorations of our globalized world. Humanities also offers students the opportunity to participate in a summer field school in Prague, and students are encouraged to take advantage of exchange opportunities with partner universities around the world. Students can also do co-op work terms in Humanities. Degree offered: BA |
