| Program | History introduces students to major world regions and cultures, to historical periods, and to social, political, cultural and economic themes. Is History for you?History is for students who have a natural curiosity about our human past and how it determines our present and our future. A love of reading and research will help determine success in the study of History, as students will learn critical thinking, research, writing and communication skills. Students of History will develop a deep and discerning approach to our past and a broad knowledge of human experience. Areas of studyHistory courses reflect our local context while also providing a global perspective, and are divided into regional groups: Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. History students can also apply for international exchange with a number of partner universities throughout the world, and the Department has an active undergraduate student union which organizes events such as socials, movie nights and Undergraduate History Conferences.
