Prospective Exchange/Study Abroad Students: Housing
Residence Application and Information
Exchange/Study Abroad Students
SFU is not able to guarantee on-campus housing for its exchange and study abroad students. If you are an exchange or study abroad student, you must apply on-line with the Residence Office by March 31 (for the Fall term beginning in September) to be placed on a priority list for available on-campus housing for the fall term. On-campus housing for the Spring term, beginning in January, is limited. We strongly encourage Spring term exchange and study abroad applicants to consider off-campus housing options. Spring term applicants who wish to also apply for on-campus housing, in case space becomes available, must apply on-line with the Residence Office by September 1. Exchange and study abroad students are responsible for ensuring that you have made all of your own housing arrangements, whether on or off campus.
- NOTE: When filling out the online housing application form you will be asked to enter your student ID number. To get around the SFU student number for the on-line application, enter the word "exchange" instead of a number. Once your exchange/study abroad application has been processed by SFU International, you will be assigned an SFU student ID number, which will be recorded on your SFU Admission Letter sent to your home university. We will forward your SFU student ID number to the Residence and Housing Office to update your housing application.
- note: Please use your SFU student ID number whenever you make inquiries about your housing application (to the Residence and Housing Office), or about your exchange/study abroad application (to the SFU International office).
- note: You will be required to pay a housing application fee before your housing application can be processed. Please refer to the Residence and Housing website for more information concerning what method of payment is acceptable.
