SFU is now offering Chiropractor services at the Burnaby mountain campus for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of various musculoskeletal system problems including issues regarding the spine.
The treatment can help with:
- Posture correction
- Foot orthotics
- Headaches
- Whiplash
- Sports injuries
- Tendonitis
- Neck pain, back pain
- Shoulder, knee pain, foot pain
- And more...
Treatment modalities include:
- Joint manipulation/mobilization
- Active release therapy
- Myofascial release
- Stretching & rehab
- Orthotics
Coverage and Price
Chiropractic services are covered by extended health plans (not MSP). ihaveaplan's coverage (patients should always check their extended health plan in case there have been any changes):
Price:- Initial & follow-up appointments for students - $30
- Initial appointment for staff - $50
- Follow-up appointment for staff - $40
- Current coverage for Undergrads (who haven't opted out):
The Plan covers the cost of a chiropractor for a maximum of $30 per visit and up to $400 per policy year. One x-ray per policy year is included in this overall maximum. - Current coverage for Grad Students (who haven't opted out):
The plan cover 80% of the cost of a chiropractor, up to a maximum of $400 per policy year. One x-ray per policy year is included in this overall maximum.
