HCS Services for Staff and Faculty

Urgent & Emergency Medical Care

HCS will provide urgent/emergency care to all members of the SFU community.  Staff and faculty can also access occupational first aid whenever necessary. Please note visitors and temporary contractors can access HCS urgent and emergency care.

SOS Suicide Prevention Training

In Canada, suicide ranks as the second highest cause of death (after auto accidents) amongst university-aged youth. SFU offers suicide prevention training workshops each semester. Our trainers are also available to provide customized training sessions for large and small groups of staff and faculty.

Workshops and Events

SFU staff and faculty are invited to attend workshops and events like our Mindfulness sessions, our Straightening out Back Pain workshop series, and our 7 Weeks to Wellness active living program. Check out our events calendar for a full listing of workshops and events.

Physiotherapy

Anyone can enjoy the benefits of physiotherapy - whether you have back pain, an injury, or want to improve muscle balance, movement and strength, physiotherapy can help! APSA and CUPE staff, as well as faculty who have Pacific Blue Cross Group Extended Health Benefits will be reimbursed $23.85 per physiotherapy visit for the first 12 visits per calendar year.  For more information visit www.sfu.ca/human-resources.
