Paying tuition with a scholarship or bursary

With an SFU scholarship

If you received an SFU scholarship, your student account will be automatically credited for the value of the scholarship(s). However, if your award amount is less than the total amount owed, you must pay the difference by the fee deadline to avoid being levied late charges.

Scholarship funds are deposited to your account; you can confirm your account balance at the Student Information System. See scholarship refund cheque dates.

Scholarship monies cannot be applied to the $250 admission deposit.

With a bursary

You are required to pay your tuition fees by the due date: see deadlines.

Bursary recipients are not excused from late payment deadlines as the timeline for bursary disbursement is well beyond the tuition payment deadline. Bursary funds are deposited to your account; you can confirm your account balance on the Student Information System.

See bursary refund cheque dates. Bursary monies cannot be applied to the $250 admission deposit.

With a provincial scholarship

Hand in your Provincial Scholarship Certificate at the Student Services General Enquiries counter. They will forward the Certificate to the Ministry confirming registration, and within about eight weeks you will receive a cheque for the amount of the scholarship. As this money does not go through SFU, you must pay all fees outstanding by the term's due date.
