Entrance Scholarships for international students
SFU awards entrance scholarships to outstanding new students. Please carefully read the application procedure section, as not all entrance scholarships and awards require an application. International students can qualify for any of the scholarships listed below, as long as they meet the minimum requirements. All scholars must meet certain academic and enrollment requirements for complete disbursement of funds.

Tadeusz Specht Memorial Scholarships
Every Fall,10 Tadeusz Specht Memorial Entrance Scholarships are offered to students graduating from a high school in Canada. International high school students studying in Canada with an average of 90% or above (or 31 or higher IB points) can apply. Students must also be admitted to a program at SFU related to health sciences. Deadline to apply is May 1 for the following Fall term. Download the application form.
H.Y. Louie or Lohn Foundation Entrance Awards
Every Fall, the $5,000 H.Y. Louie or Lohn Foundation Entrance Awards is offered to graduating high school students who have high financial need and demonstrated commitment to volunteer activities Minimum average of 80% is required. To apply for this award, students must submit a complete application by April 30 for the Fall term. Download the application form.
W. Ronald Heath International Entrance Scholarship
Every fall, six W. Ronald Heath International scholarships are awarded to outstanding graduates of the United World Colleges
. Recipients must be international, have attended a United World College, and have applied for the fall term at SFU. Download the brochure and application form.
Columbia College Alumnus Entrance Scholarship
This award provides financial support for an alumnus of Columbia College who will be attending Simon Fraser University. The award may be disbursed over one or two terms, pending interest income from the endowment fund. Applicants must have graduated from Columbia College and be registered at Simon Fraser and show distinct promise of achievement at the undergraduate level. Applicants must also provide a letter of application and resume summarizing all awards, medals and prizes, leadership initiatives, and service as well as two letters of reference and certified copy of school transcript. Submit all documentation to Financial Aid and Awards at Simon Fraser University by May 30.
SFU Africa Entrance Scholarship
SFU’s Africa Entrance Scholarship is available to high school students currently graduating from a high school in Africa with the highest academic performance (minimum high school average of 90% or 31 IB points needed to apply). The value of this scholarship is $40,000 (paid out over 8 terms) plus free tuition. Download the application form.
Stanley Morisse Memorial Scholarship
The Stanley Morisse Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student transferring from the University of Cyprus or a Cypriot secondary school. The amount of the award is determined by the amount of interest earned on the endowment. For further information, contact Student Recruitment. Download the application form.
Phi Theta Kappa International $3,500 Summit Scholarships
Up to three entrance scholarships valued at $3,500 are made available for each of the three admission terms (fall, spring, and summer) for Phi Theta Kappa members with a minimum 3.75 GPA. Candidates must have completed a minimum of 30 units. Part-time students and students with a previous bachelor's degree are not eligible. All amounts quoted in Canadian dollars. SFU-ZU Dual Degree Program Entrance Scholarships and Awards
SFU-ZU DDP entrance scholarships and awards are awarded annually to Zhejiang University students studying in the Dual Degree Program in Computing Science, based on academic and personal achievement.
