Entrance Scholarships for Canadian citizens or Canadian permanent residents
SFU awards entrance scholarships to outstanding new students. We invite students who have applied for admission and have an average of 90% and above (or a minimum of 31 IB points) to apply to our major award competition held once a year (for entry to the Fall term). Major entrance scholarship winners are normally announced from mid-April through to the end of May.
In addition to including an official transcript with the application package, major entrance scholarship applicants should self-report their marks by February 28. If academic grade 12 teachers are unable to provide a mark by that date, students may use a final grade 11 mark in its place. Application and nomination forms:
- application form (pdf)
- nomination form (pdf)
- Essay questions and a list of required documents can be found in the Entrance Scholarship Brochure (pdf)
Please note: Beedie School of Business applicants are not required to complete a Broad Based Application (BBA) if they are applying to the major entrance scholarship competition.
Complete application packages must be received by February 28, 2012 for consideration. Winners will be notified between early April and mid May.
Please carefully read the application procedure section, as not all entrance scholarships and awards require an application. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents. All scholars must meet certain academic and enrollment requirements for complete disbursement of funds.
