Workshop: Beautiful Execution: Projects that Look Sharp, Turn Heads, and Get Results.
Upcoming Event? New club? Recruitment campaign? Hawking your wares? Regardless of the project, ideas that need attention require beautiful execution. And despite the sincerest of intentions, the most heart-felt visions can get intercepted by their own marketing materials - blurry ads, boring emails, and less-than-friendly websites.
Drawing upon best practices from branding, project management, design, and personal experience, this interactive workshop will go over the key areas necessary for a beautiful launch, and give your projects the second look they deserve. This session isn’t all about Comic Sans bashing (although I can’t make any promises), or channelling your inner Don Draper (however you’re welcome to suit up). It’s about getting intimate with your ideas, being empowered with the tools available, and letting your vision shine from the inside out.
However, brace yourselves. We will be busting out the sketch pad.
About the Speaker:
Loren Aytona enjoys beautiful things. So much, she’s been guilty of editing, adjusting, resizing, adding, subtracting, and at times, adding a jaunty angle. Call Loren a marketer, communicator, or even the hype woman - ultimately she’s all about reeling people in, and keeping them happy.
Loren graduated from SFU in 2010 with a BA Hons in Communication. Her marketing and communications experience includes co-op stints at Johnson & Johnson, an agency internship, marketing positions in Student Services, and freelance consulting and design for entrepreneurs. Currently, Loren is a Program Assistant for the SFU Engagement and Retention division, supporting the coordination and promotion of leadership opportunities for swell folk like yourselves. She’s also currently working on her Certificate in 2D Design Basics from Emily Carr University.
