SFU degree programs require specific high school math courses for admission. Applicants must demonstrate competence in quantitative and analytical skills in one of the following ways. Obtain a grade of 70% or higher in Math 11 or Principles of Math 12, if that grade is higher than the grade received in Math 11.

Obtain a grade between 60 and 69% in Math 11 or Principles of Math 12, if that grade is higher than the grade received in Math 11, and satisfy additional quantitative requirements within their first three terms enrolled at SFU.

Additional requirements Within the first three terms at SFU, students must either score at least 20/30 in our Q Placement Test, or achieve at least a C grade in the Foundations of Analytical and Quantitative Reasoning course (FAN X99-4).

Students are automatically considered for a number of entrance scholarships, including the $3,500 Summit Scholarship and the $5,000 Academic Excellence scholarship.

Students who have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma will receive a complete year of transfer credit (30 units). Transfer credit will be awarded for all standard level and higher level subjects that are passed with a grade of 4 or higher. If the total specific assigned credit for all subjects totals less than 30 units, additional general elective credit will be assigned to bring the transfer credit total to 30 units.

IB Coordinators/School counsellors submit the IB Predicted Grades form.

26 IB points = admission to most programs except Business.

Partial IB diploma students receive transfer credit for HL courses completed with a grade of 5.

Prospective SFU students will still be required to write the English 12 exam (or francais premiere langue 12, or English 12 First Peoples) and any other exams needed for secondary school graduation, and must still meet our existing admission requirements of four (4) approved grade 12 courses.
