Defer your admission
Have you been accepted into SFU but wish to defer your admission?
You may defer your admission and any scholarship offer you have received under the following conditions:
- Admission offers may be deferred for up to one year; however, you may only request a deferral once.
- Offers of admission cannot be deferred if you plan on attending another post-secondary institution.
- You must pay the non-refundable confirmation deposit, which will be held in trust for you when you decide to attend, but cannot be refunded if your deferral request is denied.
A deferral of admission will include any SFU entrance scholarship which was included in your original offer of admission. However, both admission and scholarship are subject to your maintaining the conditions specified in your original offer letter.
A written request, explaining the reason for the deferral, is required before the start of classes. Please send your request to deferral@sfu.ca.
